TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR USING THE UTPA SACS WEB SITE

Welcome to the UTPA SACS web site. This section provides information about the technical requirements, navigational features and TECHNICAL SUPPORT that will provide users with the best access to this site.

Hardware Requirements:

To use this web site, we recommend your computer be a Windows-compatible computer, i.e., a Personal Computer (PC). This site is not optimized for MAC (Apple Macintosh) users.

Operating system requirement of your PC should be one of the following:

• Windows XP Professional (SP1+) (recommended)
• Windows XP Home
• Windows Server 2003 Editions
• Windows 2000 (SP3+)
• Windows 98 (2nd Editions)
• Windows ME

Computer Settings:

For the best viewing capability, please set the screen resolution of your PC to 1024x768 pixels.

To set the resolution on a PC:  

1. Left-click the “Start” button located at the bottom left of the screen,
2. Click “Control Panel”,
3. Click “Display”,
4. Click the tab for “Settings”,
5. Under “Screen resolution”, slide to adjust to 1024x768,
6. Click “OK”.

Software requirements:

To view this web site, your PC must have one of the following web browsers:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater
Firefox1.5
Netscape Communicator 6.0 or greater

To read files with an icon   or any other documents in PDF format, an Adobe Acrobat Reader is required.    

To view the UTPA Virtual Tour on the UTPA website, a JRE (J2SE Runtime Environment) is required. Click on the ‘JRE (J2SE Runtime Environment)’ link to download a free copy.

Printing:

For best results, print web pages from this web site using landscape mode in the page settings.

To print compliance certification reports, the ‘print friendly version’ is available at the top right corner of each report. Click on print command from the PDF file of each report, the document will be printed in portrait mode. Page settings do not need to be changed while printing ‘print friendly version’ documents.
